Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman. The current president is and controlling shareholder of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss was born in California and grew up part of a wealthy family. Their father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon, who was later the manager of the Lakers and other sports businesses. In 1972, her parents separated up and she felt emotionally left out. At the age 19 she became the General Manager for the Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis club. In the following years, she created the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. She served as the director of the Great Western Forum before assuming the position of vice-president of the Lakers. Buss, her five siblings and brothers as well as their father who owned the Lakers and controlled them until the time of his passing away in 2013, received this ownership by way of a trust. They each were entitled to equally vote rights. Buss was elected president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss owns a co-owned business Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional business based out of Los Angeles.
